PVC Outside Corner W/J Moulding often referred to as F-Trim or J-Channel Corner is a specialized structural profile designed to finish external 90-degree corners where two wall panels meet. Unlike a simple “L-shaped” cap that sits on top of the corner, the W/J profile features integrated channels (slots) that the wall panels slide into, providing a “built-in” and secure frame.

How To Choose

Features

①. No Splitting: You can nail or screw near the edges of PVC without the material splitting, which is a common failure point for wood on outside corners.

②. Washable: Outside corners get touched the most; PVC can be scrubbed with heavy cleaners without damaging the finish.

Installation Guide

①. Cutting: Using standard woodworking equipment. For power miter saws, carbide tooth blades are recommended. Do not use fine-tooth metal-cutting blades, do not use plywood or metal blades because the kerf of the blade is too thin and can cause heat buildup in the material. To maintain a smooth edge, support the trim across its entire length when you cut it.
②. Drilling: Do not use bits made for rigid pvc, avoid heat buildup from excessive friction, and remove the shavings from the drill hole frequently.
③. Gluing: Temperature variation will cause pvc trim board and mouldings to expand and contract. To prevent open miter joints, we highly recommend gluing all joints using a quality instant glue or pvc cement, always test adhesive brands before using. You should use a combination of glue and mechanical fasteners, such as “ glue and screw”, only glue is not enough to ensure a long-term bond.

④. Painting: BOTO Trim products does not require painting but, like any pvc product, it will weather over time and painting will enhance these beautiful products and help them maintain color consistency for many years. 100% acrylic latex paint is recommended.
⑤. Nailing:Use corrosion-resistant, smooth shank, annular threaded or spiral type nails, at least 6d in size and long enough to penetrate at least 1 1 /4″ into the substrate, stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized nails or screws are recommended. Nails should be placed 12″ on center and, if possible, 3 /4″ from each edge.
⑥. Cleaning:Use a soft bristle brush and a bucket of soapy water to remove normal dirt and grime. For especially stubborn stains, use a cleaner suitable for pvc products. Your local building materials retailers can supply several different brands, better test any cleaners before use.

You can use the same high-quality fasteners typically used for wood installation. Standard nail guns perform excellently with BOTO Moulding and Trim Boards. Important Note: Never use staples, brads, or wire nails. The shanks of these fasteners are too small in diameter to adequately control the natural thermal expansion and contraction of the PVC material.
No, BOTO Moulding and Trim Boards are non-load-bearing and cannot be used in structural applications. They are designed strictly as decorative components. For any structural requirements, proper wood or metal load-bearing components must be incorporated. Always consult with your architect or builder to determine structural needs before installation
No, BOTO Moulding and Trim Boards usually do not require paint for protection. However, they can be easily painted if you wish to achieve a custom color match for your project or to neatly conceal filled nail holes.
For white or light colors, we highly recommend using a premium, 100% acrylic latex paint specifically developed for trim applications. Several paint manufacturers offer exterior coatings designed exclusively for PVC trim and mouldings. For darker colors, it is crucial to use paints explicitly labeled as “vinyl safe” or “heat reflective” to prevent heat buildup
