Installation Precautions

· Cutting: Standard woodworking equipment can be used.
· Drilling: Do not use bits made for rigid PVC.
· Gluing: Use a combination of glue and mechanical fasteners.
· Painting: Do not require painting, or 100% acrylic latex paint is recommended.
· Nailing: Use corrosion-resistant, smooth shank, annular threaded or spiral type nails, or stainless steel / hot-dipped galvanized nails / screws are recommended.
· Cleaning: Use a soft bristle brush and a bucket of soapy water to remove normal dirt and grime.

You can use the same high-quality fasteners typically used for wood installation. Standard nail guns perform excellently with BOTO Moulding and Trim Boards. Important Note: Never use staples, brads, or wire nails. The shanks of these fasteners are too small in diameter to adequately control the natural thermal expansion and contraction of the PVC material.
No, BOTO Moulding and Trim Boards are non-load-bearing and cannot be used in structural applications. They are designed strictly as decorative components. For any structural requirements, proper wood or metal load-bearing components must be incorporated. Always consult with your architect or builder to determine structural needs before installation
No, BOTO Moulding and Trim Boards usually do not require paint for protection. However, they can be easily painted if you wish to achieve a custom color match for your project or to neatly conceal filled nail holes.
For white or light colors, we highly recommend using a premium, 100% acrylic latex paint specifically developed for trim applications. Several paint manufacturers offer exterior coatings designed exclusively for PVC trim and mouldings. For darker colors, it is crucial to use paints explicitly labeled as “vinyl safe” or “heat reflective” to prevent heat buildup
